We at Trädkontoret AB are incredibly happy and proud to announce that, together with our Nordic partners, we have been commissioned by the Nordic Council of Ministers to lead the project “Implementation of Nature-Based Solutions Locally in Nordic Cities and Municipalities” (NORD-LOCAL-NbS) over the next two years.

The project is a direct continuation of Yggdrasil – The Living Nordic City, in which we worked with Nordic municipalities to develop guidance and models for how cities can become greener, healthier, and more resilient. Now we’re taking the next step: from words to action. The focus is on supporting municipalities in actually implementing nature-based solutions (NbS), scaling up approaches that already work, and strengthening capacity in both large and small municipalities.

As part of the project, we will, among other things:

• develop practical tools and decision-making aids
• create demonstration environments and local NbS hubs
• gather and share experiences through a Nordic knowledge network
• support municipalities with limited resources through a targeted accelerator
• contribute to Nordic goals in the areas of climate, biodiversity, and health

More information is coming—but we’re already looking forward to getting started on turning words into action when it comes to nature-based solutions.
