Our Projects

Here, we present projects that we run ourselves, as well as initiatives in which we collaborate with other organizations. These projects reflect our work in practice and demonstrate how we translate knowledge and ideas into concrete actions. Here, you can learn about both ongoing and completed projects, their objectives, content, and results.

– A Crossroads for the Cemeteries of the Future

The project investigates how trees in culturally and historically significant cemeteries can be managed and renewed in a long-term sustainable manner. By combining climate-adapted tree selection, soil improvement, climate projections, and biodiversity analyses, the project is developing a knowledge-based foundation for future decisions regarding tree planting, maintenance, and replacement. The goal is to strengthen both natural values, the cultural environment, and the site’s social function in an era of climate change.

The campaign was carried out in 2024 by 12 organizations from 9 countries and garnered significant attention—and now a new initiative is being planned.
